Detta Walker Opt-In Post
Okay. So, the thing about Susannah that you'll find out in greater detail by reading her app/the revisions on it is that she used to suffer from Stephen King Doesn't Really Understand Disassociative Identity Disorder but she got better. It was a real Jekyll/Hyde situation, however, and so in time of great stress... or great mathematics... the 'Hyde' personality, named Detta Walker, can pop out. I really don't intend to let this happen much while playing her, but since there's always the possibility that a perfect storm of circumstances can lead to sudden bits of Detta-ness.
She's been pretty much defanged from where she was before she and Odetta Holmes (the Jekyll of the two) merged back together and so much of her antisocial behavior (stealing shit, breaking shit, trying to fuck up white people) isn't likely to happen if Susannah goes into Detta-mode. But she can get mean and, well, the times she has popped up in canon after the merger, she still talks like she did back when she and Odetta were separate.
... which means purposely trying to talk like a parody of a black personas a way to distinguish herself from well-spoken Odetta.
Yeah. I know. We're all annoyed at Stephen King for that.
ANYWAY. If you actually want to deal with Detta instances and possibly get your character called a honky, you can opt in here. Otherwise I'll assume that you don't and go out of my way to avoid it happening.
